Awards
were handed out to persons who either received the highest number
of votes for certain categories or who won the category based on
factual data they submitted. For the awards presentation, we
narrowed it down to the top 3 contenders in each category, the
Nominees. Each winner received a trophy engraved with the
winning category name along with gag gifts related to the
category. |

Laurie Rivette
was actually the Classmate who traveled the farthest by car -
driving in all the way from North Carolina. Margaret Sullivan,
who came in from Massachusetts was presented with the award, at
which time we discovered she actually flew. She was awarded
a trophy, a toy car, a Texas flag and bouquet of bluebonnets.

Leslie
Hendry, who flew in all the way from Paris, France was awarded
a trophy, toy plane, Texas flag and bouquet of
bluebonnets.

Janet
Forester was not present to
accept the award. Brenda Gutierrez was next in line
to receive the award. She has a
daughter who is 17 years old. Brenda was awarded a trophy, want ads, an
apartment guide and "Damn It All" pills. |

| Monte
Mechler and his wife Shawn, gave birth to Sabrina Leigh
Mechler on April 23, 2003. At the time of the reunion,
Sabrina was only one month old. Monte was awarded a trophy,
a million dollar bill, baby wipes, and No-Doze
tablets.
Additionally,
we would like to make an honorable mention to Matthew Wohlfarth
and his wife, Ann, gave birth to Victoria "Tori" Anne
Wohlfarth at 5:11 am, weighing 9lbs., 3oz., and measuring 21
inches. |

Wendy
DeSpain, who has been married for over 19 1/2 years was
awarded a trophy, the book, 500 Ways To Keep Love Alive and
a refrigerator magnet about love/relationships. Her husband is shown to the left. |

Lisa
Render was the "true" Newlywed classmate. She
and Brad were married in August 2002. This was discovered
after we learned Allison Miller should have won the prize
as she was married in February 2002. Brad had heard the month, and
realized he and Lisa should have been the winners. So somehow James
Cope ended up “sharing” the award, which included the trophy and edible
undies, between the three of them. |

Kerry Menger,
who has seven (7) children was not present to accept the
award. Terry Walker, who has five (5) children was
awarded a trophy, a million dollar bill and stress
tabs.

|


Although
we are aware that there are some classmates who already have
grandchildren, none were present at the 20-year reunion or failed
to indicate so. Shown
